Zoomlion will build a large plant producing the equipment for the Belarusian-Chinese special vehicles, which are being assembled in cooperation with Minsk Automobile Plant. The first stone of the future production was laid already on April 15 in the territory of the industrial park near Minsk, said the General Director of JSC “MAZ” Dmitry Katerinich.
It is planned to invest about $ 45 million in the construction of the plant in the “Great Stone” park. The first products are expected to appear in 2019. The Chinese mounting equipment will be designed for communal and road construction vehicles. Then it will be taken to Mogilev, to the free areas of the “Mogilevtransmash”, where it will be installed on the Belarusian chassis to get ready-made special vehicles.
Earlier MAZ and Zoomlion have created and certified three units of equipment: 40 and 60 tons truck cranes with a load capacity 40 and 60 tons and a municipal truck. The Belarusian-Chinese tandem plans, first of all, to develop the lines of truck cranes, municipal and road-building equipment.
The construction of the plant near Minsk will increase the localization of production. “Besides, it is much more effective: you will not need to carry equipment from China. Everything will be produced here, at your fingertips”, said Yury Pivovarov, the Director of “ZOOMLION-MAZ” LLC. “Zoomlion plans to create several joint ventures (with partnership of MAZ, BelAZ, Gomselmash and MTZ). The equipment for each enterprise will be produced in “Great Stone”.”
This Month, Belarusian-Chinese special vehicles will be presented in Moscow at a major construction exhibition CTT. “Now we are working on tuning of the chassis and attachments. When they “join together”, there will be a complete market product with the appropriate technical characteristics, “added Yury Pivovarov.
Until December, the specialists will have to study the market and develop 8 new products which will be put into mass production next year. Special vehicles are planned to be delivered to the regions of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, other CIS countries and Europe. It is possible that the new vehicles will be operated in Poland and the Baltic countries.
“Zoomlion-MAZ” LLC was registered in February of this year in Mogilev, where the production of special equipment will be started at the free areas of “Mogilevtransmash” plant. The joint venture will produce truck cranes, auto-concrete pumps, automotive mixers and municipal equipment.
